Darius "1061" Balgobin is from the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago: 10, 61 represents the latitude and longitude coordinates for the island of Trinidad. Offering up a rare taste of something musically alluring for both a band and solo act. Born into a Seventh Day Adventist home, his father is a SDA Pastor and mother is a retired Nurse. Darius 1061 infuses, varying island genres of music: Spoken word, Soca, Calypso, Rapso, Gospel music, African drums, Electric guitars and the Ableton Sequencer creatively making a sound that is enticing, fresh and new. His team are members of the new era of music, and his fans are privy to be part of the coming wave. 2021 Releases debut track WARRIOR 2008 Independently recorded his first single, NEWS, with Jus Now Collaborator and Producer Keshav Singh. 2009 Opened for 3 Canal’s Rapso concert “Freedom.” Later that year he sang backing vocals for Nigel Rojas’ band Orange Sky. 2010 – 2012 Performing and Recording. Represented Cabezon at performances in Shoreditch, London and Apple Jack’s Restaurant, Canada. 2013 Off the stage and into the classroom, he enrolled at the University of Trinidad and Tobago Artist Diploma –Voice and completed the full-time programme in June 2016. 2016 Certified Artist and Cultural Worker of Trinidad and Tobago - with the Ministry of Community Development, Culture and The Arts. Additionally he joined Bay Area Drum School as a drumming student and lead vocal singer. 2020 The Corona Virus seeks to overwhelm all.
